Creating and Managing Coupons in the VTM Vending Portal

This guide covers how to create promotional coupons in the VTM Vending Portal, including fixed-amount and percentage discounts, auto-generated or custom coupon codes, and how to view or export the resulting codes.

1. Navigate to the Coupons Page

From the left-hand navigation menu, click Coupons. This opens the Coupons & Discounts page, where you can view coupon totals and create new coupons.

  • The page displays Total coupons, Active, and Expired counts at the top

  • Click Export to download existing coupon data

  • Click + Create coupon to start a new coupon

  • 🟢 Green arrow — Points to Coupons in the left-hand navigation menu

  • ⚫ Black arrow — Points to the Export button, used to download coupon data

  • 🔴 Red arrow — Points to the + Create coupon button, used to start a new coupon

2. Fill Out the Create Coupon Form

Clicking + Create coupon opens a form with the following fields:

  • Coupon name (required) — internal name for the coupon, e.g. "Summer Sale"

  • Type (required) — choose Fixed amount or Discount percentage

  • Discount amount / Discount percent (required) — the value of the discount

  • Minimum spend — the minimum purchase required to use the coupon; leave at 0 for no minimum

  • Quantity (required) — how many coupon codes to generate

  • Expires — set an expiration date, or leave as No expiry

↳ Under Coupon codes, choose either Auto-generate (unique random code per coupon) or Custom code (same code for every recipient)

Shows the empty Create Coupon form with all fields, defaulted to Discount percentage type and Auto-generate codes

3. Example: Creating a Percentage Discount with a Custom Code

Below is a completed example of the Create Coupon form:

  • Coupon name: New Year Sale

  • Type: Discount percentage

  • Discount percent: 20

  • Minimum spend: $25.00

  • Quantity: 10

  • Expires: 2028-01-03 00:00:00

  • Coupon codes: Custom code — "Super101"

↳ Click Create coupon to save, or Cancel to discard

Shows the New Year Sale example filled in with Discount percentage, Custom code selected, and the code "Super101" entered

4. View the Coupon in Your List

Once created, the coupon appears in the Coupons & Discounts table with its key details.

  • The table shows Coupon Name, Type, Value, Minimum Spend, Issued, Remaining, and Expires

  • Under Operation, click Codes to view or export the individual coupon codes

  • Click Duplicate to quickly create a copy of the coupon

  • Click Delete to remove the coupon

Shows the New Year Sale coupon listed with a 20% discount, $25 minimum spend, 10 issued, and an expiration date of 2028-01-03

5. View and Export Custom Coupon Codes

Clicking Codes on a coupon created with a Custom code shows the same code repeated for every issued coupon, since all recipients share one code.

  • Each row displays the shared code and its Status (e.g. Unused)

  • Click Export to download the code list

Shows all 10 issued codes for New Year Sale displaying the same custom code, "Super101", each marked Unused

6. View and Export Auto-Generated Coupon Codes

If Auto-generate was selected instead, clicking Codes shows a unique randomly generated code for each coupon issued.

  • Each row displays a distinct alphanumeric code and its Status

  • Click Export to download the full list of unique codes

Shows 10 unique auto-generated codes (e.g. 9E3BD250CD13, 17CAD25865B4), each marked Unused

Important Notes

⚠️ Custom Code Limitation: A custom code is shared by every recipient — it does not generate unique codes per coupon. Use Auto-generate if unique tracking per redemption is needed.

💡 No Minimum Spend: Leave Minimum Spend at 0 if the coupon should apply with no purchase threshold.

📅 No Expiry Option: Leave the Expires field blank to create a coupon with no expiration date.
