Nayax Card Reader: No Payment Prompt When Buying a Product

If your Nayax card reader doesn't prompt for payment after you tap "Touch Here to Buy," the transaction limit is likely set too low. Here's how to fix it.

What's happening

You select a product on your machine and tap "Touch Here to Buy," but the Nayax card reader doesn't do anything — no payment prompt, no tap/insert/swipe request, nothing.

Why this happens

This almost always means the transaction limit configured in your Nayax account is set lower than the price of the product you're trying to buy. When that happens, the card reader silently blocks the sale instead of prompting for payment.

How to fix it

  1. Log in to Nayax Core:
Go to Nayax Core and sign in with your Nayax account credentials.

  2. Open the General tab:
From your Nayax Dashboard, click the General tab.

  3. Find the Payment section:
Scroll down on the General page and click into the Payment option.

  4. Check your Default Credit value:
Look at the Default Credit field. If this number is lower than your product's selling price, the reader won't prompt for payment on that item. Raise the limit to comfortably cover your highest-priced product.

  5. Save your settings:
Click Save to apply the new limit.

Test the fix

  1. Restart your vending machine.

  2. Select a product and tap "Touch Here to Buy."

  3. You should now hear a prompt from the card reader, and the total price should display on the machine's screen.

Still not working?
